Introduction

The Varibill User Interface (accessible at ui.varibill.com) introduces a modern, structured, and intuitive experience built to streamline every stage of the billing lifecycle.


The Varibill User Interface brings together all core Varibill functionalities, including data collection, contract management, workflow execution, billing documents, reporting, and configuration into a unified workspace designed for clarity and efficiency.


Since the introduction of Version 6.0.1, Varibill has introduced a wide range of enhancements across Billing Documents, reporting behaviour, File Management, Source Data modules, Contract Services, and grid-level workflows. With updated layouts, expanded self-service functionality, improved date-range logic, and enhanced bulk update options, users can manage their billing operations with greater accuracy, visibility, and control.


You can expect ongoing refinements to the platform, with continuous enhancements supporting smooth day-to-day operations.

Added

Tenant Details (Initial Release)

A new Tenant Details screen has been introduced in the Varibill Client Application to support tenant-level configuration used in billing documents.

This initial release enables customers to:

  1. Manage key tenant information (such as company, contact, and billing-related details) used in generated documents
  2. Select and apply available billing report templates directly from the front-end

Report template selection is available within the Report Details section of the Tenant Details Editor, accessible via:

Navigation Menu → Tenant → Tenant Detail → Tenant Detail Editor

This functionality was introduced to provide immediate, self-service access to billing report configuration while broader document design capabilities continue to be developed.

Further enhancements to this area are planned in upcoming releases.

Outgoing IP Address Update

Updated outgoing IP address configuration for Varibill Source Collector jobs to support improved security and allowlisting.

Customers integrating with external systems may need to review and update firewall rules based on the latest regional IP configurations.

Odoo Accounting Integration (Preview)

A new accounting system integration for Odoo is now available within the Varibill User Interface.

Odoo is a business management platform that includes accounting, invoicing, and financial reporting capabilities, commonly used by organisations requiring flexible and modular financial systems.

  1. This integration is currently released in a preview state. This means:
    1. Functionality has not yet been fully validated across all scenarios
    2. Behaviour may change based on testing and client feedback
    3. Not recommended for production-critical workflows without prior validation
  2. Best practice guidance for preview features:
    1. Test in a non-production or controlled environment first
    2. Validate outputs against expected accounting results
    3. Avoid reliance on preview features for financial reporting or compliance
    4. Engage Varibill support for onboarding and validation guidance

Improvements

Billing Document Export Enhancements

Billing document exports have been expanded to improve transparency of currency and exchange rate data.

New columns are now included in export outputs:

  1. Foreign Currency

  2. Foreign Currency Unit Rate

  3. Rate of Exchange

  4. Currency

  5. These fields:

    1. Provide clearer visibility into foreign exchange calculations
    2. Align exported data with billing transaction values
    3. Extend the enhancements introduced in Version 6.0.9
  6. This builds on previously introduced fields in the Version 6.0.9 release.


Direct-Tenant URL Navigation

URL handling has been enhanced to improve direct navigation to Tenants.

Updates include:

  1. URLs now include a Tenant identifier (Tenant key)

  2. Direct navigation to specific records using URL parameters

  3. Automatic Tenant access when accessing shared links

  4. This improves:

    1. Ease of sharing links between users
    2. Navigation accuracy in multi-Tenant environments
    3. Overall user experience when accessing specific records
  5. Users without access to a specified Tenant will receive a clear access restriction message, preventing unintended navigation.
