Dropsuite Reseller - Version 2.0

Modified on Mon, 19 Oct at 1:22 PM

Overview

The Dropsuite Reseller collector retrieves reseller-level seat allocation data from the Dropsuite email backup and archiving platform via its REST API, providing visibility into licensed seat provisioning across customer organizations managed by each reseller.

This collector produces a single record type representing the total number of licensed seats provisioned per customer organization, with the Product Identifier reflecting whether the organization has archiving enabled.

The collector retrieves unrated allocation data, meaning no monetary values are supplied by the source system. Pricing and billing calculations are applied within Varibill based on configured contracts and pricing rules.

This is a point-in-time collector, meaning each execution retrieves the current state of seat allocations at the time of collection. The data reflects the active organizations and their provisioned seats as present in the Dropsuite platform when the collector runs.

About Dropsuite

Dropsuite is a cloud-based email backup, archiving, and compliance platform that protects business email data across Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and other email platforms. Dropsuite provides automated daily backups, granular recovery, and long-term archiving with search and eDiscovery capabilities.

Dropsuite’s reseller platform enables managed service providers (MSPs) and resellers to manage email backup and archiving services across multiple customer organizations from a centralized console. The platform provides per-organization visibility into seat provisioning, archiving status, and licensed capacity.

The Dropsuite API provides programmatic access to reseller and organization data across the managed customer base, enabling distributors and master resellers to retrieve reseller-level organization data and seat allocations.

Data Collected

The Dropsuite Reseller - Version 2.0 collector retrieves unrated seat allocation data from the Dropsuite reseller platform. The collector queries resellers first, then retrieves the organizations under each reseller, producing one record per organization.

Licensed Seats (Per Organization)

For each organization under each reseller returned by the Dropsuite API: - A record representing the total number of licensed seats provisioned, with a quantity equal to the seats_available value from the API - Organizations with zero available seats are excluded from collection

The Product Identifier for this record is determined by the organization’s archiving status: - If archiving is enabled, the Product Identifier uses the configured Product Identifier Backup And Archive Code - If archiving is not enabled, the Product Identifier uses the configured Product Identifier Backup Code

The identifiers submitted to Varibill for each record are constructed as follows:

  • Client Identifier — a composite of the reseller’s numeric ID and the organization’s numeric ID, separated by # (for example, 123#456)
  • Product Identifier — one of the two configured product identifier codes (Backup or Backup And Archive), depending on the organization’s archiving status
  • Record Identifier — Total licensed seats provisioned
  • Unique Identifier — the organization’s numeric ID from the Dropsuite API
  • Tag — a multi-line value containing both the reseller name and customer organization name (for example, Reseller: Acme MSP followed by Customer: Contoso Ltd)

Note: The collector retrieves the current state of the Dropsuite platform at the time of execution. Each record reflects the licensed seats provisioned for the organization at that point in time. Organizations with zero available seats are not included.
